Last scene after the last twist in the last episode of my latest favourite TV show. The genre-hybrid, hypnotic and, perhaps, most mind-blowing series at present reaches the end of its second season with the first handclaps of the second half of my second favourite song from the equally hybrid, hypnotic and, yes, sometimes mind-blowing album El mal querer by Rosalía.
With her interlocking of flamenco with trap, pop, R&B and electronic music, Rosalía has undoubtedly become one of the moment’s international rising stars. The usual praise to her musical style, vocal technique, video imagery and live performances, though, have placed her lyrics in a secondary, if not almost forgotten, position, and with this a very relevant aspect of her art is being lost.

Última escena tras el último giro en el último episodio de mi última serie favorita. La híbrida, hipnótica y, quizás, más alucinante de las series en la actualidad llega al final de su segunda temporada con las primeras palmas de la segunda mitad de mi segunda canción favorita del igualmente híbrido, hipnótico y, sí, a veces también alucinante El mal querer de Rosalía.
Con su engranaje de flamenco con trap, pop, R&B y música electrónica, Rosalía se ha convertido sin duda en una de las estrellas emergentes en el panorama internacional. Sin embargo, los elogios a su estilo musical, técnica vocal, imaginario visual y puesta en escena, además del uso del castellano, han colocado sus letras en una posición secundaria, si no casi olvidada, y con esto se está perdiendo de vista un aspecto de gran relevancia.
